A review on yeast production of natural products (2020-02-12)


We recently published a review about current progress in engineering yeast cell factories for production of natural products (iScience, 2020, 23, 100879  https://doi.org/10.1016/j.isci.2020.100879). In this review, we proposed a "three-dimensional" metabolic engineering strategy: point, line and plane (correspond to the individual enzymes and cofactors, metabolic pathways and the global cellular network). In particular, we comprehensively discussed how to engineer cofactor biosynthesis for enhancing the biosynthesis natural products. (Text and Image by Ruibing Chen)
