The Synthetic Biomanufacturing Research Center (1823 Research Cluster) has been officially approved at the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, following review by the Academic Committee and approval from the Director’s Office. Prof. Yongjin Zhou has been appointed as the center’s director.

The Research Center will comprise four research groups: the Intelligent Biodesign Group, the Enzyme Engineering Group, the Metabolic Engineering Group, and the Bioprocess Engineering Group.

The establishment of the Research Center marks a significant milestone for our group. It will build a complete innovation chain spanning from fundamental research to industrial application, aiming to achieve breakthroughs in the biomanufacturing of microbial proteins, high‑value chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.
